Privacy Policy

Overview
ClipSync provides cross-device clipboard synchronization. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with. We collect the minimum data needed to operate the service.
Information we collect
- Account data: email address and authentication credentials (passwords are hashed).
- Device data: device name, platform, and a hardware fingerprint used to deduplicate devices.
- Clipboard content: synced clipboard items and files you choose to sync, plus associated metadata (timestamps, size, type).
- Billing data: subscription status and customer identifiers. Card details are handled by Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Operational data: logs and metrics needed to run and secure the service.
How we use your data
To deliver clipboard sync across your devices, authenticate you, process subscriptions, provide support, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.
Security
Data in transit is protected with TLS. Passwords are hashed, and TOTP secrets are encrypted at rest. We are actively rolling out end-to-end encryption for clipboard content across all clients; until that is fully shipped on every platform, do not treat synced content as end-to-end encrypted. We will update this policy when E2EE is live end to end.
Sub-processors
We rely on the following third parties to operate ClipSync:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Cloudflare R2 — encrypted file/object storage and CDN.
- OpenAI — optional AI-powered clipboard search features.
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs) & Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — push notifications.
Data retention & your rights
Clipboard history is retained according to your plan limits and may be purged when you delete items or your account. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
